2022 AVP CABARET- A VIRTUAL EVENT

Join us as past and current AVP Celebrities come together to entertain you

Join us on Saturday, February 12, 7:30pm, from the comforts of your own home, as your friends and neighbors attempt to make you smile, laugh- maybe even cry (or roll your eyes)!  You will certainly see some familiar faces!

Each year the Players entertain us with an engaging Cabaret show.  Typically held in the Annisquam Village Hall, this show delights the sold-out crowd with songs and skits performed by our thespians.  This year the Pandemic has again presented us with a wonderful opportunity- a silver lining of sorts!  Because we are not able to gather inside, the AVP will be performing this year’s Cabaret virtually.

There is no charge for this event, though we welcome donations to our Scholarship Fund. All donations collected from the 2022 Cabaret will go to the Annisquam Village Players Theatricals Arts Scholarship Fund.  Any Donation is welcome, a Footlights Sponsorship is available with a Donation of $100 or more.  At this level we will deliver (locally- a 35-mile radius) a bottle of Prosecco for you to enjoy while watching the show!  All donors will be recognized on our website as soon as the donation is received.

A BRIEF HISTORY-

In 1863, several young Annisquam men were headed off to war, and needed to raise money to pay for their uniforms.

They wrote a play, sold tickets, performed the play in what is now the ‘old schoolyard’ and successfully paid for their uniforms- the Annisquam Village Players were born, and we have been performing since then!  We believe that the AVP is the oldest continually performing Community Theater group in the United States!

Each year the AVP does a Cabaret Show in February and a Live play in August.

Typically, both the Cabaret and the Live shows are performed in the Village Hall, however the Pandemic has forced us to become very creative with our performances.  2022 marks the second year that our Cabaret will be a virtual show.

For the summer of ’22 we intend to perform Mary Poppins (pandemic slowing!).  More information to come soon for this show.
